AMPANG, Oct 8 – A special community gathering was held to introduce Tengku Zafrul as the new coordinator for the Pandan parliamentary constituency and to further strengthen ties with local residents.
The event was jointly organised by Yayasan Tengku Zafrul and the Kampung Tasik Permai PKR branch, attracting approximately 300 to 400 participants. The programme was led by Kampung Tasik Permai PKR branch chief Suzy Mariamma, with the coordination handled by information bureau chief S. Sukumaran. Residents from various backgrounds, including children, youths, adults and senior citizens, attended the gathering.
As part of the community outreach initiative, food baskets were distributed to 150 families, while 100 recipients received gift bags worth RM100 each. Special gift packs were also presented to 150 children. The event featured a variety of recreational activities and competitions for different age groups. These included drawing competitions for children and senior citizens, a balloon-bursting contest for adults, an ankle-tied balloon-bursting competition for youths, musical chairs and a decorative cupcake competition. In addition, 60 lucky draw prizes and 20 special prize packages were given away to participants.
Health-related activities were also organised, including health screenings and vaccination services for children, providing families with an opportunity to access basic healthcare services.Held from 9am to 2pm, the gathering provided Tengku Zafrul with an opportunity to meet residents directly, listen to their views and understand their needs and concerns.
The programme also served as a platform to strengthen engagement between the new constituency coordinator and the local community.Suzy Mariamma and S. Sukumaran played key roles in ensuring the successful organisation of the event.
