Goon International College and Gadjah Mada University in Indonesia have strengthened their educational collaboration to expand opportunities for Malaysian students to pursue higher education at leading universities in Indonesia.
The plans under the collaboration were announced during a press conference held in Kuala Lumpur. Through the initiative, students from Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak will have access to information, guidance and international education opportunities to further their studies at Gadjah Mada University.
In particular, selected students enrolled in Goon International College’s foundation programme will be offered scholarship opportunities for the 2027 intake. The collaboration will focus on fields including medicine, veterinary medicine, pharmacy and dentistry.

Goon International College director Prabhakaran said the main objective of the collaboration was to ensure that students had a clearer understanding of the opportunities available to them beyond their current level of education.
“Through this collaboration with Gadjah Mada University, we hope to make higher education opportunities more accessible to students. Scholarships will provide additional support for students who excel academically and have the interest and ability to pursue higher education,” he said. The collaboration is also expected to serve as a platform to further strengthen educational ties between Indonesia and Malaysia. Both institutions will also explore expanding student exchanges, academic activities and various joint initiatives in the future.
